Very sad to hear about the passing of a great mentor Dr. @WSpriggs. While I attended AEASP @HowardEcon, he always showed his support & was always in the audience for my presentations. He’d prepare detailed notes & feedback that showed how much he cared.

I will miss him greatly.

We are extraordinarily saddened to report AFL-CIO Chief Economist Bill Spriggs @WSpriggs passed away peacefully last night.

His work has impacted a generation of economics and workers around the world and his legacy will live on for lifetimes to come.

#SPI2022 taught me so much in the last 2 days. I enjoyed:

1. Seeing ongoing work from passionate academics + practitioners relating to philanthropy & economics.

2. Connecting w/ philanthropic leaders who were more than willing to teach me about their org’s mission(s).
