@nickitruesdell For writing, kids can keep a family journal recording daily events. Also, they can write grocery/to do lists, recipes, movie/restaurant/book reviews, and reports on topics that interest them.

@TolentinoTeach In second grade I used a Word of the Day program. Learned four new words Monday- Thursday. On Friday, the kids worked in small groups to write a story using all the words. Then each group read their story to the class. They loved it!

@educator4ever36 In our district, many “expert” teachers couldn’t wait to get out of the classroom for a cubicle job in the DO, where they mentored other teachers (meeting with you after school). They should be in classrooms working with kids!!
