We were delayed an hour waiting on the inbound, which wasn’t ideal with conditions trending worse. Fortunately the wind was right down the runway.
Despite the radar and satellite picture, the climb-out was better than expected—mostly rain bands and a much smoother ride than it looked like it would be. Watching arrivals work through some of the same returns on TCAS helped confirm what the weather radar was painting.
Another reminder that heavy rain doesn’t always mean a rough ride
