Still can't get over this clip that FIFAe themselves put out as part of their statement

Turns out it's the head referee too, goes in to Manu's booth with a ruling to stop the penalty shootout and completely bottles it when in a confrontational situation and walks off like he is lost - absolutely shocking.

Stopping the penalty shootout there, understanding what the problem is and rectifying - making sure both players understand, are comfortable and focused before remaking the situation and resuming (which is simple to setup) was the right call.... they just failed to follow through.

Instead they've mishandled the situation horrifically, tried to divert with an awful statement and shift accountability and responsibility.

Sad for everyone involved, this was all so avoidable 😞
