Nothing done to improve service quality.
Nothing done to fix corruption.
Nothing done to enforce accountability.
But 24/7 obsession over clothes & dress codes.
This is showing power 💪 & control .
Classic dictatorship behaviour.
HC ruling on Yameen Rasheed’s case a devastating blow to our fight against impunity. 8 years later, we are back at square one. The prospect of the accused walking free while a retrial is pending is an insult to Yameen’s memory & a threat to every working journalist.
It all started when you all cheered on this sociopath when he banned cigarettes.
Civil liberties are being taken away, one by one. Because he is a coward who can't fix the problems inside his own home.
The current changes to the civil service dress code is just another attempt to control every aspect of our citizen’s private lives. It is an encroachment on the rights. The fact that the restrictions are more severe for women is telling - this is an attempt to control and intimidate women away from public spaces.
We are seeing systemic erosion of the fundamental rights guaranteed for every citizen under the constitution. And there is no end in sight.
There is nothing to show in terms of achievements, no meaningful progress on any front. The government continues to move without any meaningful direction or focus. When there is nothing to show, you resort to this kind of intimidation tactics.
When a government utterly fails the public in everything,
The government starts controlling the public through subjugation,
The government ensures the public has no time to question the government's failures.
Let’s be honest:
This wasn’t a reopening.
This was a government-requested demo — and Shangri-La delivered exactly that.
Three rooms. No systems. Sponsored guests.
Demo successful. Reality pending.
There's no such thing as a purebred "Male' meeha". If you look at most Male' families, you'll see that, one of their ancestors had migrated from an atoll and bought/reclaimed land in Male' & established their family. Even most ruling dynasties originated from atolls.
A student waited six hours at the ministry, begging for an approved payment that had already been cleared. The student finally made it to class three weeks after the semester began.
Dozens of scholarship and loan recipients describe being ignored, blocked from classes, and left to fend for themselves abroad. https://t.co/NUCkJMJRy6
The level of racism by some MM towards RT is disgusting. We too are your people. Maldives is made of one people and look at the level some are at already. Now imagine if we were a multiethnic nation. The tribalism would be insane, not that it isn't already.
When a regulation is rewritten to bypass oversight, it ceases to be a financial instrument and becomes a political weapon.
These no-bid contracts represent not progress, but the institutionalization of patronage.
MVR 2.7 Billion in projects handed out with no bidding or oversight. Rules were changed to benefit governmentt allies, with loans forced through BML. If companies fail, the public pays.
The same man who once called Hanimaadhoo an “Indian military project” now hails it as a catalyst for northern Maldives’ growth.
Irony? Hypocrisy? Or just textbook political theatre? You decide.
Incompetent @MMuizzu inaugurating a project already planned, financed and well underway in construction when he was elected.
- Same concept.
- Same technology.
- Same contractor.
- Same work schedule.
- Same source of funding.
But he is acting like he did it all. 🤡
