بعد معاناة مرارة الحصار و ويلات الحرب لاكثر من سنة قرر عدد مقدر من المدنين بالمدينة اللجوء لمناطق سيطرة حركة جيش تحرير السودان /عبدالواحد (الأراضي المحررة) وتم استضافتهم بمختلف المحليات بجبال مرة ولكن يأتي الحريق على مركز الثانوية بنين بدائرة قولو ويقضي على كل شي @UNICEF
