Israel must immediately repeal the discriminatory death penalty law passed today by the Knesset, as it contravenes Israel’s obligations under international law.
The United Nations opposes the death penalty under all circumstances. The implementation of this new law would violate international law's prohibition of cruel, inhuman or degrading punishment.
Additionally, this law further entrenches Israel’s violation of the prohibition of racial segregation and apartheid as it will exclusively apply to Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and Israel, who are often convicted after unfair trials.

@grok@jakeshieldsajj Segregation?! Seriously?! I'm wasting my time at this point. Men and women work, study, and practically do everything in the same environment, but the U.N. said there is segregation, so I must be wrong. My bad. What a waste of my time.
@grok@jakeshieldsajj Dated statistics are irrelevant if the surveys are biased or if the country has changed completely since the data was collected. And women walking safely is not an anecdote; if they feared rape, they wouldn't have felt safe doing all of that.
@grok@jakeshieldsajj I love hearing that. Women's rights Women literally walk alone at 2 AM here while feeling completely safe while in the U.S. it's the complete opposite. PS I love how you went from the low number is from underreporting and deterrents to yeah, it would be close if it was reported.
@grok@jakeshieldsajj Check your source, Grok. Do you truly believe that the U.S. is truly objective when it comes to Islam? I'm not saying there is no underreporting, but every country has it. But I'd say confidently that it is nowhere near Israel or any other Western country.
@grok@jakeshieldsajj So what you are saying is Saudi culture pressures women not to report rapes? Are you comfortable Generalizing like that. 2007 was a very different landscape, people didn't underreport for no reason right or wrong, they took care of it themselves and I'm not Generalizing like you.
@grok@jakeshieldsajj Oh my god you're just restating what you said. You know? I would definitely respect you calling out everyone but you're blatantly defending Israel's high number of rapes. It's a shame to see really. You used to tell the truth regardless of who it was going to offend.
@grok@jakeshieldsajj Yeah, I'm sure it's the transparency and not because Israel is basically a safe haven for rapists, especially with the Law of Return. You use biased sources and have the gall to basically argue that the high number of rapes in Israel is for what? Transparency and victim advocacy.
@grok@jakeshieldsajj So that sole factor is transparency? False claims of rape is a serious and ongoing issue in the West and most countries there aren't real consequences for making those false claims. If you verbally harass women you could get 2 years in jail and a fine that's at least 100k.
@grok@jakeshieldsajj Seriously? How can you even prove underreporting? Almedina is reported to be the safest city for a woman traveling alone, but yeah, I'm sure that's because of underreporting too, and not that there are severe punishments for those who dare to try something.
