@StagecoachEScot why are there festive timetables for all areas except for Aberdeenshire? Just a one liner saying "reduced services" which could mean anything, so basically can't use any of your buses until well into next year.

@JohnsWalks1 I generally like places associated with wolves. Remote rocky nooks not often visited. When heading for Beinn Bhreac I diverge off of any sensible route and follow the Allt a Mhadaidh

@JohnsWalks1 Not been on that hill, though at some point I want to explore as it has a row of interesting rocky clefts. Is the wolf rock on the east side? I'll also need to go look for the "boar traps" in the area too.

Up Glen Mark looking for mines & caves; bracken season is wrong time though. 1st location unsuccessful: Glifumman mine, scrabbled about in screen n deep heather, bottled out of steep gully. Later photo from distance maybe shows old access tracks. @JohnsWalks1

@GoodwinMJ The billionaire isn't the wealth creator, it's their business & it's resources and workers, which would continue if the owner leaves. In the unlikely event they close it down instead of selling, the free market economy & competitors will fill the gap so no net loss in jobs.

At Burn of Doune distracted by waterfalls. Scoped hillside of Cuys for Kidd's cave but didn't head up. Could see bit @JohnsWalks1 had pointed to. Bonus micro-howff nr zig zag path. I need to buy a drone for these trips or camp over for more time to explore, and to do so in spring

On to Balnamoon's cave easily found (though is it the "tourist" one). Scouted higher west at coords given for alternative, found chamber with good view along glen but not a cave as such. Have heard there's cave in fissure in rock face so more to do in future @JohnsWalks1

Hike with the Cairngorm Club up Bennachie on a chilly night+ some night nav practice. Practice is always good, but less banter as folk went silent counting paces. Tried to demo "plough>polaris>north" star-nav tip, whoops interrupted everyone's count.

22nd Nov, Also took the bc xc skis for a walk up Sgor Dubh and Sgor Mor, a bit too optimistic, thin cover there only allowed a token slide. Great views as always though and some nice snow sculpture in places. 2/2 #cairngorms
