@Nateemerson Yup I am now going through this with someone at work. Can you copy 5 lines in two places? Nope. Can you make it a static method and use it twice. Nope. Instead we get 3 new Exceptions and 2 classes. 1 with a static method. All just to use the new pattern matching in java.

@gunnarmorling This is true for me. There 100s of small improvements I would like to make, but it will take a week for each one to be approved and I will be stuck maintaining 100 low priority PRs that nobody wants to review.

@gunnarmorling It is a good idea but depends on the team. I also think it would be weird to stop a whole team's progress for a todo. If it is a library it would be ok but a multimodule team project I'm not so sure.
