I had the honour of presenting my candidature for the position of UN Secretary General to His Excellency, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, President of Somalia, earlier today.
I shared my vision for a more agile, efficient, and effective UN, and welcomed the engaging discussion that ensued, including on the challenges confronting developing countries, and how the UN system could better support them.
I look forward to continuing my engagement with Somalia and all other Member States as we work together to build a stronger United Nations for present and future generations.
