We call on @Dave_Eby to put his words into real action and restore the legally zoned and operating short term rentals he stoled from hardworking BC people. You devastated middle class people trying to get ahead, ruined pension plans. And you did so at the urging of the @bchotelassoc who wrote your legislation against mom and pop owners. @bcndp DO THE RIGHT THING. Stand united with your own people.

@KahlonRav Do better @KahlonRav use actual data. In Kelowna you have removed legal non conforming which allows for students and Nurses to have 8 months of affordable housing. At the same time allowing 4 months for tourism dollars to flow to small business. Your policy has stripped both.
@KahlonRav The places that can be rented out without the new owner, losing considerable money each month. Your policy has only hurt the city of Kelowna.. it has not added to the affordable market. It has only taken away subsidize units to Students. It has cost our tourism dollars

@KahlonRav Ravi have you looked at how many condos are for sale and rent in Kelowna at the same price point as the legal non conforming. There are over 200+ in a 5km radius and over 90% of those are not legal non conforming but at the same price point.

@GraceALore We may have an affordable housing crises but the house at the price point of the legal non conforming are available for every citizen to purchase and or rent and in multiples.

@GraceALore Just curious have you done research that shows if the legal non conforming are not already over represented on the mls market and rental market. These properties at this price point and rent point are available in abundance, and thatโs before you add the legal non conforming.
@KahlonRav Removing illegal STR was a positive step. Howbever taking away the legal non conforming was a step too far. Those do nothing for affordable housing. There are plenty in the price range for purchase/rent. 3/4 of the legal non conforming convert to subsidized rentals for students

Entirely upside down policy. Leave the legal non conforming to STR. They are never going to be affordable housing. NDP lazy with policies
