Is It Acceptable to Worship on Another Day of the Week Besides the Lord’s Day In Order to Make Space for Other Activities Like Sports? — Dr. Mohler Responds to a Letter from a 15-Year-Old Listener of The Briefing #TheBriefing https://t.co/xZg28v2f4D
In every generation, the church must be reminded to hold fast to Scripture's authority, because in every generation we are tempted to replace Scripture with something else.
Where we find a faithful church, we find that it is a church deeply rooted in Scripture, deeply committed to truth, passionately committed to the gospel of Christ.
We are to love the Lord our God with all of our heart and soul and mind, and we are to love our neighbor as ourself—and all this is possible only if we renounce our self-determination in order to follow the Lordship of Christ.
It is not enough to simply say "I love Jesus" or "I follow Jesus."
Many who say they love Jesus and follow Jesus do not follow Jesus as he has revealed himself in Scripture.
"God showed me," and "God led me" are commonly used expressions of evangelical piety.
Well, God does show, God does tell, and God does lead—by His revealed Word.

God often calls us to wait for His promises.
Noah - 120 yrs for promised rain
Abraham - 25 yrs for the promised son
Joseph - 22 yrs for the promised dream
Simeon - his whole life for promised Messiah
What promise are you trusting God for?
He may seem slow, but He's faithful
