If you’re still playing regular Solitaire, you're missing out. FreeCell removes the luck and turns the deck into a pure puzzle game. Using those 4 free cells perfectly is an unmatched feeling.
Spider Solitaire isn’t hard because of the cards. It’s hard because you clear a suit too early and leave garbage columns. Don’t empty a column until you know what you’ll put there.
1-suit Spider is a warm-up. 4-suit is the real game. Most people quit at 2 and think they’re bad.

FreeCell Solitaire: If your four free cells are full, you don’t have a strategy. You have a traffic jam.
Empty columns win FreeCell. Free cells only borrow time. Fill all four cells and the deal is already over.
Keep one column open and the same cards start moving.
3-card Klondike is the same game with worse information. You see three, you can take the top one, and the other two wait. That’s why it feels harder than 1-card.

Klondike Solitaire first showed up in print in 1907 as “Seven-Card Klondike.” By 1913 the 1-card draw became the official version. Then Windows 3.0 put it on every computer in 1990 and the world got hooked.
