@MarkBaileyMP my concern is that duplicating the bridge will only dump more traffic on Coonan Street making this another traffic sewer cutting through what should be a calmed walkable precinct around a train station and principal regional activity centre.
Northern Transitway plans are a great step forward for buses. But the pedestrian facilities are underwhelming with missing pedestrian legs at intersections. @MarkBaileyMP@TMRQld your Road Safety Policy and Walking Strategy are being ignored at 3 out of 5 intersections.
Everyone...please review and respond accordingly to these hopelessly inadequate intersection proposals in Indooroopily. No bus priority. No safe seperated cycle infrastrucutre. Missing pedestrian crossings. Dangerous last century solutions. https://t.co/ntNEoOGACr
Copenhagen's #Superkilen is designed to promote physical activity and community gathering through swings, monkey bars, a boxing ring, slides & a bike lane that runs through the entire site, encouraging adults and kids to be more active while celebrating neighborhood diversity.
@stephanknoll@ScottMorrisonMP@marshall_steven @AlanTudgeMP @NicolleFlint@samduluk No protection for cyclists. No priority for buses. What a short sighted short term and unsafe solution. Can i suggest you go back to the drawing board and study up on urban transport planning 101 while you're at it.
@CoxyJindas This is such a brazen con job... the ultimate distraction technique. My fear it that is is such a bald faced lie that the media amd general public fall for it.
@MarkBaileyMP@tmrqld... is this part of your #walkingstrategy for Qld? Removing direct ped crossings and creating highly inconvenient unsafe uncomfortable "pig pen" staggered crossings? This is Gympie Road (TMR road) and recent. Why treat peds as second class citizens?
@CoxyJindas @MarkBaileyMP @AnnastaciaMP A 3.5m lane could carry 2000 cars (about 2400 people) or up to 9000 bus passsengers...which is more efficient use of space i wonder?
So let me get this right. We have spent $16B on dealing with less than 2000 #Refugees who came by boat while 64,000 #asylumseekers arrived by plane and no body said a word. That's really weird #Auspol
@nedmartin@9NewsQueensland@ShannonMM9@katejonesqld Evidence? Buses are the main reason they work so can't "be ignored". Ideally they would actually be bus lanes but as a compromise transit lanes at least allows a few car poolers so still improves overall person occupancy compared to a general traffic lane.
@TMRQld@MarkBaileyMP@QUT More importantly can it reliably detect pedestrians, cyclists, wheelchair users, children?. Anything less than 100% accuracy then back to the drawing board please.
@Team_Quirk Dealing with congestion is like dealing with obesity. Option A: You get a larger belt (wider road) to make yourself feel less full for a little while. Or option B: You can change your diet with a healthier balance of bus lanes and seperated cycle ways. You chose Option A. Again.
@cbdbug@Team_Quirk@RACQOfficial You could literally turn an aircraft carrier into that side street its so wide. How are young children or elderley meant to cross thay safely when cars are physically able to make the turn at 50 kmh giving little reaction time for anyone.
@Taezar@cbdbug@HighamLiane Only where you have amazing infrastructure though right? In Brisbane its either really great or really crap. Barely anything in between.
