The issues about prison needs to be discussed and a proper debate needs to be had to set out how to improve the prison system for prisoners and staff. Drugs and violence are at an all time high putting prisoners and staff at risk this is not good.

We should also not forget the victims of crime in my case the killer is still free after 31 years and that bothers me just as much as my wrongful conviction.

One prison officer who witnessed me being assaulted by another officer did stick up for me and told the governor what happened the officer who assaulted me placed me on false charges the governor threw these out and I was placed back on the wing .

I met some very good prison officers and not all are the same many do a difficult job and i have witnessed unprovoked attacks on them it is not nice to see at all. you have to look at both sides.

When people talk of prisons being like holiday camps it really pissed me off because in the top security prisons all i saw was death and destruction brutality like you have never seen before and violence became the norm.

When i was in prison seven inmates were killed by the hands of other inmates saw one die right in front of me Norman manning I could not sleep for two weeks after seeing this and still haunts me to this day.
