@ManoThigasx Service options with the prices starting to soar way past cable, it's now an issue of localization and context. People do not want to spend a ludicrous amount of money on live services when they feel like they are not being given a level of service on par with the price paid.
@ManoThigasx This is misinterpreting one of his most famous interviews. He talked about this in relation to the massive difference in availability and currency localization in different countries like Russia and Turkey. (Leading to the disproportionate amount of piracy there). 1/X
@ManoThigasx contextualization of locale, this idea fits hand in hand with "Someone pirating your game is going to pirate regardless, so you don't 'lose sales to piracy' because there was never a sale there to begin with"
It's why piracy is on the rise again, unfeasible to maintain live 3/X
@ManoThigasx I'm all for glazing Newell because I think he is genuinely one of the better CEO's in the "live service" space at the moment but people that try to evangelize him. He was pointing out that piracy, mostly, is a result of a lack of infrastructure and 2/X

@Dajnoxes@iterogg If ur game isn't basically over at 25 minutes with nautilus you've played the champ incorrectly or your team absolutely sucks. similar to Lee Sin
@julianolol_ Similar vein but I wish there was a companion app similar to blitz/DPM that was just a better way of working with Item sets/pull from OTP builds without doing any of the in-game resource intensive BS. I've been doing my own item sets since s3 but the system is just so deprecated.
@dontyell31 Cognitive bias, he believes it's true which makes him inherently try less hard/be negatively impacted on his blue-side games. Which is a bigger explanation than some strange MMR gap that has never really been true for league. it's a boogeyman that started when ELO changed to LP.
@ZerebusX@boardroom@Forbes what everyone else said and also you heavily undersell the fact that optics in general are a multiple hundred billion dollar business and EssilorLuxottica owns a large piece of that pie.
@Almost__Sick@FountainCartoon Not completely disagreeing with you, I think it's *novelty* for what it is. But this isn't the future of agentic AI. The AI industry knows that, they're pushing for it as a productivity tool and a "Multiplier Agent". This is just created to get people interested in capabilities.
@Almost__Sick@FountainCartoon Look at any of the actual passion project non-ai generated animation in the past decade. Or if you even want a couple older AAA titles. Real Steel, Alita battle angel, etc. are 2 hour movies with very few visual hiccups. This is 56 seconds of blender running/transformation slop.
@RiotPhroxzon Any clue what the keybind upgrades happening are? Is this related to WASD or are there more optimizations coming to m&k as well. This as well as the item sets/favorite item system could have so much more done to them.
@tarzaned Really hate the whole "Guy is a dickhead to people on video games/is toxic so the second he tries to do anything positive we have to shit on him".
Good on you if you go through with this, sorry the twitter response is poor.
@Prof_Bubu@drewlevin@Joexylol This argument is totally disingenuous and disgusting because you are equating two situations that are magnitudes different. It's very clear that both statements can be true, this guy could have very well griefed the game and the person saying that shit was also not acceptable?
@hawolt That being said you can definitely just get away with a much worse CPU so long as the core count and clock speed is high, the 5800x3d/12900 are great last gen options. My Ryzen 3600 was chugging really horribly on league (120 fps at 1440p) so the CPU is the biggest upgrade by far
@CestDommage So if you are looking for the volumetric answer you'd go on the cosmetic angle, if you wanted the answer for the elite/apex tiers of gameplay the leaderboard and recognition is probably the way to go.
@CestDommage But answering your question the problem is I think it goes both ways, lower elo players tend to do it because they identify with/love the character they are playing, higher elo players tend to do it because they enjoy the champ kit and playstyle to the point of mastery.
