5 SHORT PRAYERS TO SAY BEFORE BEDTIME:
1. God, thank You for today.
2. Please watch over my family.
3. Forgive me for messing up.
4. Help me sleep in peace.
5. Stay with me, Jesus... please.
One of my favorite verses is Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” That sounds beautiful until life stops making sense. It’s easy to trust God when everything is going well, but harder when doors close, plans change, prayers seem delayed, or life takes an unexpected turn. That’s exactly when this scripture matters most. It doesn’t say trust God when you understand everything. It says trust Him with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. There will be seasons where you don’t have all the answers and moments where God’s plan looks different than the one you had in mind. God has never asked us to understand everything, He’s asked us to trust Him. Every time I look back over my life, I see moments where God was guiding me even when I couldn’t see it. So if you’re facing uncertainty today, remember: God is already ahead of you, in the situation you’re worried about, and still making a way, even if you can’t see it yet.

You shouldn’t be protecting your heart by pretending you don’t have one, btw.
Chronic emotional suppression is a stress state. It is cancerous and ages you rapidly.

In Philippians 1:9–11, Paul prays that our love would overflow and that we would continue to grow in knowledge and understanding.
Spiritual growth isn’t about striving harder. It’s about asking God to deepen our love, refine our discernment, and shape our character through His Spirit.
As you pray today, where do you long to grow? In love? In discernment? and understanding? In becoming more like Christ? Let us know 👇
I recently learned something that shifted how I understand prayer. When the Bible says “the God of Abraham/David/Jacob,” it’s not repetition, its revelation. God’s name is attached to people’s stories so we understand how He shows up. The God of Jacob is the God who stays with the struggler. The God of David is the God who restores after failure. The God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego is the God who delivers in the fire. Growing up, I heard my mom pray like this all the time.
I didn’t realize she was calling on specific dimensions of God’s faithfulness. Now I understand, when we say “the God of…” we’re saying, “Do here what You did there.”
