Everyone remembers 2 COOL 4 SKOOL for "What is your dream?" But that's not actually what this album is about. It's not a motivational push to dream bigger. It's a much harder question aimed at a specific system.

"did you ever get the chance to choose your dream in the first place?"

To understand why that question lands the way it does, you need the context it's aimed at.

South Korean youth culture revolves heavily around education — kids as young as kindergarten age start attending after-school academies aimed at getting into the country's top "SKY" universities — Seoul National, Korea, and Yonsei.

There's even a term, "In-Seoul," used just to describe whether your university is located in Seoul at all — a geographic shorthand for how much your degree, and by extension you, are worth. 🧵

imo we need to chill with the connections to rival companies narratives, it gives them credit for having more power than they have. Our strongest point is othering of asian artist than conflict of interests. The latter makes this a kpawp issue when it bigger than that.
