Let’s reimagine Bengaluru’s waterways together. Explore interactive maps, citizen tools & more to shape resilient communities. 🌊💡
Our work on the K100 Citizens’ Waterway has been featured on @thebetterindia! 🌧️✨
With growing visibility, we hope this pushes for stronger government support and accountability in managing liquid and solid waste — so Bengaluru can finally harness the stormwater it already has.
If someone told you a mosquito-filled, open drain in Bengaluru has now become a clean green public space where children play and sparrows chirp… would you believe it?
This is not just a makeover, it’s a transformation rooted in 500 years of forgotten history, engineering, community effort and political will.
Watch this video to see how an entire waterway went from foul smell to fresh air and why this could change every Indian city next.

Primary to the transformation was a change in mindset, to bring in the public to restore the space as a public asset - only for stormwater and people! Not the 130MLD of sewage once flowing in it!
There is a long way to go, but visibility is the first step towards accountability
🌊 Bengaluru’s K-100 Waterway Project: A Drain That Dared to Dream
Once called an eyesore, the #koramangala Valley stormwater drain- known as K-100 Rajakaluve-is being reborn as a walkable waterway.
Stretching nearly 12 km, from Shantala Silks Junction (Majestic) all the way to #Bellandur Lake, this project aims to turn a polluted drain into a public green-blue corridor- where water can flow freely, citizens can walk safely, and the city can breathe again.
💡 Why it matters:
🔷️It reconnects Bengaluru’s forgotten lake network.
🔷️Restores flood channels once choked by garbage and encroachments.
🔷️Promises public access, greenery, and better drainage resilience.
But there’s a catch- a walkable rajakaluve is meaningful only if sewage inflow stops, encroachments stay cleared, and maintenance continues.
Otherwise, it’s just paint on a wound.
Let’s celebrate the idea and stay vigilant about the execution.
Because #Bengaluru doesn’t need only more “beautified drains", but needs living waterways, as well 💧
