My Mom was really all about making sure I was exposed to various programs & majority being FREE. I went to a whole medical afterschool & learned how to take vitals by 11. There's ways to help your child's education outside of school without having funds or time.
God bless the women that aren’t our moms, aunts, or sisters but take it upon themselves to hold space for younger women and teach them things about finances, hygiene, self-care, careers, and relationships.
My mom definitely did even as a single Mom working 2-3 jobs & taking care of my sickly grandmother. When she didn't have the time, she made sure I was apart of free extra curriculars & had proactive neighborhood babysitters that would help with my education.
Be honest, y’all parents taught y’all to read? My mom didn’t. I learned all my academics at school, where you’re suppose to learn. Being able to sit down and teach your children is a luxury. Most parents don’t have that type of time. I know mine didn’t. She was working.
@AjaaDxnee My cousins who are teachers were literally just having this conversation. They said since the pandemic its become even worse with middle schoolers reading grades below their level and parents bash you all for what they're lacking.
I don’t wanna tell anyone how to parent but my parents read to me all the time and taught me how to read consistently at home.
