๐ We at last have a lab for Chap 10 Inference for Regression, written by Beth Brown of Greenfield Community College @greenfieldtweet!
We use the {infer} & {palmerpenguins} #rstats pkgs to teach students how to interpret p-values AND confidence intervals in a regression table!
We then top things off by extending inference for regression to a parallel slopes multiple regression model as well!
Note: we always EDA first ๐๐, then regression table second ๐งฎ
@pylodictis@rstudio Indeed! High school students can DEFINITELY understand the hands-on simulations we do with balls (or M&M's), pennies, and decks of cards! The formula for the standard error for the two-sample t-test on the other hand... ๐ต๐ตโ๐ซ
@LeafyEricScott @robbie_emmet @TrevorABranch We're big fans of simulation based inference (as opposed to asymptotics) as the way to introduce statistical inference. Esp. since you can do hands-on tactile simulations first, then replicate on a computer. That way students get the intuition!
New page on our resources webpage! Videos from the @R4DScommunity ModernDive book club! Thanks again to @philosohacker for organizing!

We go one step further by leveraging the tidyverse & broom packages to make linear regression accessible to students taking an introductory statistics course. Such students are likely to be new to statistical computation with R; we designed moderndive with these students in mind.
Furthermore, while the use of the R statistical programming language for statistical analysis is not new, recent developments such as the tidyverse suite of packages have made statistical computation with R accessible to a broader audience...
@juditbekker It really depends on what you want to learn R for/want to do with R. For data science with the tidyverse I usually recommend https://t.co/xLNJmc8ker by @ModernDive or https://t.co/sAL7r8bdIJ by @hadleywickham.
For anyone out there who is writing or has written a bookdown book, I would be happy to discuss doing a parallel print version with CRC. I am always on the lookout for books in other formats as well. Please send me a DM or tweet. #rstats#DataScience@AmstatNews@CRC_MathStats
@RohanAlexander .@rudeboybert 's new @ModernDive textbook is pretty innovative IMHO.
and @VincenzoCoia & @LourenzuttiR have just developed and offered a new intro stat course @UBC that uses that book, #rstats and Jupyter.

If you're looking to learn statistical inference via simulation-based methods like the bootstrap & permutation tests, then check out these videos & https://t.co/X5zI0LvHGb to learn about the {infer} #rstats package!
ICYMI @R4DScommunity recently completed a ModernDive book club on regression & the meat/protein of our book: statistical inference via sampling, confidence intervals, & hypothesis tests!
