yeesh, these comments from Rudi Ying appear pretty cutting, but of all the players he’s certainly the most media trained, perhaps part of the issue was how tired the players were later in the game from completely overplaying the naturalized players due to no alternative

Aslo, what is with the English names “Bing Dwen Dwen” & Shuey Rhon Rhon”? With China’s pinyin push you’d think they would make them straight up pinyin, but this weird pronounciation method reminds me of some Wade-Giles bullshit making it even harder for foreigners to pronounce

Working less than 100 meters from the main Olympic store, I can’t understand why the sudden rush for “Bing Dwen Dwen” & Shuey Rhon Rhon” merch, store’s been open over a year, typically I was only one browsing, suddenly it seems people realized the Olympics are happening
