Di Maria is such a big game player for Argentina

He was delivering in all those big matchs for Argentina

Scored against France in the final, scored a long range against them in 2018 also, played so well in the group stage of 2014, he also scored in the Copa America final against Brazil

Di Maria was an asset for the National team

He used to deliver for them..

I'm rewatching some matches from the 2014 World Cup and I just finished Argentina vs Nigeria in the final group stage game.

Maybe it's recency bias, but looking back at that Argentina squad, I genuinely don't think they were meant to reach the final 😭

They had some good players, but compared to some of the other squads in that tournament, they looked far from unbeatable.

That team overachieved massively.

Makes me appreciate how much work Messi and the rest of that squad put in to get all the way to the final.
