When the former band members and late frontman’s widow praise your cover of their original work and even call it “an honor”, you’ve done something right. Check out #LanaDelRey’s take on #Sublime’s “Doin’ Time” on https://t.co/U5q30XuD4j •

It’s quite the example of an extremely subtle change in a #cover that still completely reinterprets the work as a whole. Have you heard #Weezer’s take on the #ThePixies’s 1990 single #Velouria?

It’s one of the most covered tracks of all time. So which one makes the cut? Check out the “Hallelujah” cover of Leonard Cohen’s original by tragic figure Jeff Buckley, that takes a melancholy song and makes it heartbreakingly dejected •

Polish off #HispanicHeritageMonth with this emotionally charged song of heartache and regret from #Tejano Queen #Selena. You do not need to understand Spanish to feel and love this gem, “Si Una Vez” (“If I Ever Once…”)

This double-layered tale evokes sympathy both for the unrequited love, and the singer’s position on the outside, trying to be what she already is, but not recognized for it 💔

Does dubstep violin exist? Yes, yes it does. And it makes for a nice soundtrack while working from home.
