Warning to Tab Suspender users: Before updating to Safari 14, make sure all tabs are unsuspended! You can do this by clicking in the Tab Suspender icon -> Unsuspend all tabs
Apparently Safari decided that extension internal pages can simply be broken during the update 😔
@maushov Awesome UX! Minor feature request: Can the URL update automatically when using the slider? This way I could share the url with the exact time across several timezones, eg.: https://t.co/2O2miVruWF
@MichaelGlowacki I'm trying to get in touch with someone from the Safari team before proceeding since I do not want to release a new version that has less features than the previous ones...
I will let you know when the new version is released. Hopefully, soon 🤞
@MichaelGlowacki Glad you find the Tab Suspender useful!
I temporarily removed it from the App Store since Safari 15 is causing the Tab Suspender to not work well. I'm planning to do a full rewrite of the app, but this new Safari is missing a couple of things the extension needs to work as before
Post-Evergrande: China's Waterfall of Pain
China itself is one big Evergrande.
One big debt crisis.
For years massively over-levered shadow banks masqueraded as propcos, got drunk on credit, flirted w/ default & called for bailout like a late-night uber.
Contagion has begun

@joaolucas_nm Right, that's due to a limitation in Safari app extensions.
I'm currently rewriting the Tab Suspender using the "new" webextension model and from my early tests, it seems like it will work on pinned tabs
@joaolucas_nm 3/ You can actually see what the script does by opening the Safari developer console -> sources -> extension scripts
Let me know if this helped reassure you :)
Feel free to ping me any time.
@joaolucas_nm 2/ The extension absolutely does not share any data with me nor 3rd parties. I also did not add it any analytics.
The access to the webpage is needed in order to determine if a page can be suspended, eg.: if any media is playing, if there is any active user input, etc.
@JeanPaulH 3/
but despite my promises are guarantees I'm sure most people would still not feel comfortable enabling that option.
There would also be an issue with recurring server costs.
I'm keeping an eye on iOS and still trying new ideas since this is also something I have issues with
@JeanPaulH 2/
Since Safari for iOS does not support extensions, my options are very limited.
The only way I can think of, to make something like this work, would be to point the suspended tabs to a server I would control to ensure no logging or tracking,
@mergesort Hi Joey, sorry for that bug! I'm currently rewriting the app which should fix that issue and other ones.
Meanwhile, a possible workaround is clicking on the IAP you purchased and you will not be charged again as the IAPs are "Non‑Consumable"
