I really applaud efforts by folks like Barkha to figure out what’s going on in the mind of President Trump. In this interview and the one with Fareed Zakaria - people kept saying over and over that this is all about one man and his personality and his feelings. It seems so difficult on the Indian side to wrap their minds around this unusual situation. 😅 On one hand, the solution is so simple - work only on one man for desired outcomes. Instead of having to deal with hundreds of bureaucrats. On the other channels of communication in this new situation are unusual. My 2c : find that one person or even two people who are in the Trump inner circle. Sergio Gor is an excellent start. Others are Howard Lutnick and Steve Whitcoff. And work closely with them. Establish a clear agenda with their help and execute on it. From what I hear, it is incredibly easy to get things done in Washington DC if one is working with the right people. As a huge fan of the US India corridor, I hope both sides can bring this relationship back on track.
