Ewan MacKenna assumes a mediocre man surrounded by a rash of civil servants and advisors can lead a party better than a post partum woman in the same position.
@johnkellyjkcs@Rhianno52874081 Would you get a fucking grip of yourself. Public representatives are not immune from comment by the public, and if I choose to contact Norma Foley directly, it will be of my own volition. Meanwhile, I'll comment on her demonstrable dereliction of duty & mediocrity as I see fit.
Norma Foley represents the peak of mediocrity in Ireland. Out of the self-regarding mixed ability teaching profession, one based on nodding dog conditioning and hierarchy, followed by a sideways transfer into politics with its party leader principal & dutiful dullard compliance.
Life is strange. You may have heard about it. They say revenge is best served cold so I should be gleeful someone who made my life hell is getting a doing in one of the current Stormont spats, but I'm just relieved time and tragedy do add up to comedy eventually.
The biggest problem in the broad sociopolitical realm of current times is one cannot speak the truth without sounding like a bollox.
This deters so many.
If I want to address a point about a public figure directly, I will do so and tag them in. If you want to address the public figure directly, tweet them directly. This business of tagging individuals in to a response in which they're not, is a shit fucking tactic round here.
@Rhianno52874081 Lack of courage follows from a culture of hierarchy, deference and compliance.
I have removed Norma Foley from this reply who you tagged in. If you have a point to make to her directly, do so on your own tweet. My tweet isn't directed to her.
@ninnythebear For sure. I suppose I'm tuned in a lot to the gender issue and see people tying it to UI, and I'm not convinced, rightly or wrongly, if it's really gonna be neither here nor there in the long run when it comes to a border poll.
The thing is, the Shinners aren't custodians of Irish reunification. It belongs to the people in common, not individual parties, whatever their respective positions. Handwringing at it hinging on imaginary party loyalty is bemusing.
@chrisadonnelly Noone is attempting to overturn existing religious rituals. The question concerns merits of milestone rituals for those who don't participate those. The ritual is the pull, a basic organising principle of human celebration that predates religion. It's a reasonable question.
The Examiner has deleted its drag for minors promotional piece. Will The Journal do likewise with its piece on wagging finger on identity rules with the self-awareness of a brick en route to the altar in an offertory procession to the strains of wee Mary at low tonsil.
