i know the practical use differs form it’s etymological roots. i just personally think it reinforces the binary sex system. it’s also a term coined within that framework. we should move past that. we should linguistically catch up to the biological and social complexities

bi means two. theoretically it excludes every non-binary person. pan is the better term as it doesn’t have an inherent gender limit

in general i hate when queer people import straight discourse. “men vs women” talk is built on cishet stereotypes that don’t fit most of us. my experience is that most queer people have done the introspective work to not have the toxic opinions and behavior of cishet people.
