​Chattanooga City Council candidate and Marie Mott gets pulled over for driving at night with a burnt-out headlight. Instead of cooperating with routine enforcement, she instantly launches into aggressive racial accusations, attempting to bully the officers into abandoning their duties through intimidation.

The moment the officer asks standard questions—requesting her registration and insurance, and asking if the car belongs to her—Mott refuses to comply. Her instant reaction: "Are you asking me that because I'm Black?" and "Why would you ask a Black person... you wouldn't ask nobody if they own a car."

When backup arrives to quietly observe, she escalates further, declaring: "Y'all white cops in a Black community, y'all harassing me." She deliberately turns a basic equipment violation into a racial confrontation to put the officers on the defensive.

​When the racial angle doesn't intimidate the officers, she pivots to sovereign-style "right to travel" talking points, citing Tennessee Title 55 and insisting that driving with a headlight out isn't a crime and that traffic enforcement is "outside the scope" of their jobs.

​ Through all the hostility, shouting, and intimidation tactics, the officers never raise their voices, never respond with insult, and calmly explain the law while carrying out the stop.

​Someone seeking public office showed voters exactly how she views the rule of law, using identity politics to browbeat working police officers out of doing their jobs. You also have to wonder how someone that racebaits on the level she does, have the ability to not show biased if elected to office.

The great news is this race baiting crap no longer is effective and the ​Voters in Chattanooga took notice as Mott was defeated in the District 8 runoff election. The citizens of that city dodged a bullet for sure by not having an individual that conducts herself in this fashion in office.

Police say Cadarius Bumcon and Deangelo Robinson, both 22, launched an attack on an unnamed Uber driver while wearing ski masks and gloves.
