15 months later and the court just spat in the faces of two children who watched their parents get executed in a Rustenburg parking lot.

Wilma Koster (66) and George Koster (69) were shot dead in broad daylight on 14 June 2025 in the Platinum Square parking area. A white Kia with no plates pulled in beside their Jeep. Door flung open. Bump. Argument. Onke Bongo pulled a gun and shot George at close range. When Wilma tried to stop it, she smashed the Kia’s rear window trying to get to her husband, Bongo shot her dead too. Both bodies were found on either side of the car, front doors hanging open.

Paramedics declared them dead on the scene. Witnesses heard the first two shots, then more. One round hit a shop wall. They fled. No firearm on the Kosters. None registered to them.

The court swallowed Bongo’s “self-defence” story anyway. Acquitted of murder. Convicted only of obstructing justice for running. Five years, fully suspended. They walk.

George Jr. and Jacqueline sat through 15 months of their parents being painted as the aggressors. Last words that morning, “We’ll stop at the shops, then we’ll braai later. See you then.” They never came home.

This is the system. Two White pensioners gunned down in a shopping centre car park and the shooters get a slap and a wave. The children are crushed. The state is “considering” an appeal. Don’t hold your breath.

Wilma and George Koster. Remember their faces. The court already forgot them.

Anthony Albanese has absolutely zero interest in the horrific child abuse crisis confronting Indigenous children in Western Australia now that the Voice referendum is over and he can no longer leverage Indigenous affairs for political gain.

While a Coalition delegation flies into Port Hedland to confront a harrowing child protection crisis on the ground, Albanese used his first post New York outing on home soil to cut a ribbon on a $130 million stadium in Tasmania.

The political hypocrisy is staggering.

Last week, Albanese was on the global stage basking in a "global citizen" award and promoting Indigenous culture.

When asked about children being abused and murdered in WA, he deflected, calling it a “domestic issue” for the state government.

“Not my problem”

He promised he’d have “a lot to say”
upon returning to Australia.

Instead, he did a local media circuit on Monday completely dodging the crisis to praise a “world class” sports venue.

Indigenous Australians Minister Malarndirri McCarthy has still not visited the region five weeks after reports broke, despite previously lecturing opposition senators in Parliament about whether they had been there.

While the Prime Minister prioritises photo ops, stadium openings, and international awards, families are left reeling from systemic protection failures.

It is time to stop using Indigenous communities as political backdrops and put the safety of vulnerable children first.

Given his divisive Voice proposal got demolished, he no longer has any interest in the Indigenous community.

In all my years riding motorbikes (including some nice ones!) never once did I fear being 'jacket' for it. It just wasn't a 'thing'.

Remember when violent mobs ripping people off their motorbikes, stealing the bikes, and beating the riders into hospitalisation, was something you watched on Youtube late at night, along with dashcam footage from wild road encounters?

These were '3rd world country' problems.
