What type of work is this?
India will borrow 8.2 trillion rupees ($86.5 billion) in the first half of the financial year beginning April 1, around half of the amount scheduled for the full 12-month period, the government said in a statement Friday. https://t.co/L5pu1XDW4w
🚨 Indian government to borrow ₹8.2 lakh crore in just 6 months.
Full year target? A RECORD ₹17.2 lakh crore; up 17% over last year.
Of that, ₹14 lakh crore goes purely to paying INTEREST on old debt. Not roads. Not hospitals. Not jobs. Just servicing the failures of the last decade.
Interest payments have exploded from ₹5.8 lakh crore (2018-19) to ₹14 lakh crore in FY27. That’s 140% in 8 years under one government.
1 in every 4 rupees this government spends; goes not to you, but to a lender.
Meanwhile:
→ 40% of Indian graduates are unemployed (State of Working India 2026)
→ 80 crore Indians survive on free ration
→ Youth unemployment (15–29) stubbornly stuck at 14.3%
This isn’t Viksit Bharat. This is a generational debt trap, and your children are the collateral.
Chest thumping is free. The bill isn’t.
