🚩 WHY SHOULD HINDUS FACE OBJECTIONS TO THEIR DEVOTIONAL SONGS DURING THEIR OWN FESTIVALS?

In Davanagere, Karnataka, where Hindus constitute approximately 73.14% of the population, police objected to youngsters dancing to the devotional song “Banaenge Mandir” during the Dasara procession and stopped the song from being played.

Only after strong opposition and protests by Hindus were they allowed to play the song again.

A few important questions arise:

🔸 Why was a devotional song played during a Hindu festival objected to in the first place?

🔸 Are Hindu religious expressions being subjected to unnecessary restrictions?

🔸 Shouldn't the same rules be applied fairly and equally to everyone, without discrimination?

Hindu festivals are an expression of our faith, culture and civilisational identity. The authorities must uphold the law impartially and respect the constitutional right to religious and cultural expression.

₹49 LAKH OF HINDU TEMPLE DONATIONS FOR GOVT. DASARA CELEBRATIONS. KARNATAKA GOVERNMENT MUST ANSWER! 🚩

Reports that ₹49 lakh collected from the hundis of 19 Hindu temples in Tumakuru district has been allocated for government-sponsored Dasara celebrations raise serious questions about temple fund protection, legal authority and accountability.

🙏 Devotees donate to their deities—not to finance government festivities!

⚖️ The Karnataka Government must answer:

🔴 1. Where is the legal authority?
Under which specific legal provision was this allocation made? Was the mandatory approval of the competent Muzrai authority obtained? The government must disclose the relevant orders and approvals.

🔴 2. Why are neglected temples being ignored?
While many temples struggle with dilapidated structures, poor maintenance and inadequate facilities, why are devotees’ contributions being considered for festival expenditure instead of the temples’ legitimate needs?

🔴 3. Is secularism being applied equally?
Would the government consider diverting donations collected at mosques or churches for general government celebrations? Religious institutions must be treated fairly and consistently under the law.

🔴 4. Who is accountable?
If the allocation violates applicable temple-endowment laws or the conditions governing these funds, responsibility must be fixed and appropriate corrective action taken.

📢 OUR DEMANDS TO THE KARNATAKA GOVERNMENT:

✅ Immediately disclose the order, legal basis and approvals for the reported ₹49 lakh allocation.

✅ Conduct an independent audit and inquiry into the use of these temple funds.

✅ Ensure that temple revenues are used only for legally permissible purposes, respecting the deity’s interests and applicable rules.

✅ Prioritise the renovation, maintenance and preservation of neglected Hindu temples.

✅ Take appropriate legal action if any violation is established.

A devotee’s faith is not a government expenditure account!

We strongly oppose any unauthorised diversion of Hindu temple funds and demand transparency, accountability and equal treatment under the law.

Your argument about prior police permission, traffic management and public resources must apply equally to every organisation and religious gathering, without discrimination.

The same standards should apply when roads are blocked for Eid-e-Milad processions or when public roads are used for mass Namaz during Ramadan. Are the same rules, permission requirements and traffic regulations enforced in those cases as well?

If permission is mandatory for RSS route marches, it must be mandatory for everyone. If exemptions are granted, they must be based on the law—not religion or political convenience.

The rule of law demands equal treatment, not selective enforcement.

Will you publicly clarify whether the same standards are applied to all religious organisations?

Not to be a wet blanket, but a gentle reminder, merely “informing” or telling the Home Department to “cooperate” or “make necessary arrangements” is not the same as obtaining permission.

Please submit your application in accordance with the prescribed procedure applicable to all organizations and await formal approval from the competent authorities.

I am sure you have read your own Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha Annual Report 2025–26, which states that the RSS conducted 562 route marches across Karnataka, involving 2,21,963 uniformed participants.

Now, when lakhs of you intend to march through Karnataka’s streets on single day at the same time, the Police Department has considerable preparations to make: deployment of personnel, transportation, food, traffic management, security arrangements and other logistics.

All of this requires planning, manpower and public resources.

So, please fill out the prescribed application form, provide the necessary details and await formal permission.
