After 3 years with the @Obol_Collective , I wasn’t happy with today’s announcement.
Moving toward decentralization while allocating few tokens to the community is contradictory. Please reconsider and show more respect to your users.
Based on the article, user tokens are too few to even decide their lock status, while the team holds most tokens, controlling the ecosystem.
The reward for users supporting you for over 3 years should be greater. As you’ve valued user feedback before, I urge you to listen to your community again.

Decentralization is around the corner, but...
The #Obol project is one of those good infrastructure projects introducing a new concept that could potentially change the rules of the game for Ethereum and some of its infrastructure. When a project reaches this level of importance and is focused on decentralization, it should naturally lead the way in being decentralized itself. Today, the token allocation page was opened, although not officially announced yet. However, what's clear is that the team has not performed well and could have done much better. While some might participate just for the airdrop, considering metrics like the number of participants, which didn't even reach 5 or 6 thousand, I believe the Obol team has been unfair. Given that the testnet was specialized, it attracted more expert individuals, and it's unfair to allocate only 200 tokens to them out of a 500 million supply when just 5000 people participated. The math is simple enough that no matter how I calculate it, I think Obol could have allocated tokens differently. Perhaps 1% of the supply, which would be 5 million tokens, could change the game.
And finally, I want to say that I think $OBOL is a very good infrastructure project. I have no intention of damaging the project because, with or without us, it will follow its own path. However, I believe it's important to reconsider some aspects, which certainly won't harm the team's plans given the number of participants. This could be significant because the specialized community you've gathered can greatly influence the project's future. Remember, we're not talking about 5,000 ordinary people just clicking to get an airdrop; we're talking about 5,000 specialists who believe in your infrastructure.
I hope the Obol team reconsiders this allocation quickly.
Best regards.
