A CCTV video has surfaced showing a dismissed Punjab Police constable allegedly escaping from police cus..tody at Civil Hospital, Ludhiana, on Wednesday, 24 June 2026, while being taken for a mandatory medical examination.

The acc..used had been arrested along with two others in connection with an alleged attempt to ille..gally retain a rented luxury SUV using a fake registration plate. During the operation, police also recovered ille..gal fire..arm.s and live cart..ridge..s from the acc..used.

Soon after the escape, police launched a manhunt and registered a separate case for fleeing from lawful custody.

Major Drug Bust in Punjab !

A joint operation by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Chandigarh Zonal Unit, and Chandigarh Police has led to the seizure of 793 grams of Methamphetamine (Ice), 10 grams of Heroin and 250 grams of Poppy Straw from an alleged drug trafficking module operating in Kharar.

Viral snatching video leads to ar.res.t of culprits involved in multiple incidents.

The investigation into the June 17 mobile snatching incident involving a woman has led Ludhiana Police to three alleged off.end.ers.

According to ADCP Sameer Verma, the ar.rests have helped trace around 16 cases, resulting in the recovery of 12 mobile phones, four motorcycles and wea.p.ons allegedly linked to the cri.mes.

One of the acc.used is reported to have multiple previous cases registered against him.

Police remand has been sought and further revelations are expected.
