Since Kenyan leaders want to benchmark Kenya against Singapore it is good to remember that Singapore itself did not benchmark itself against a single country. As a small city state it borrowed from Israel realism, British institutions including rule of law and creation of a professional and politically neutral civil service . It also borrowed from the Japanese economic discipline, Swiss integrity, Dutch efficiency in port management among others and of course American openness.
So Kenya needs to understand that it may need to learn from many different countries.
