HRCP is deeply concerned by the government's new Foreign Media Facilitation Guidelines 2026, which, rather than facilitating journalism, will invariably institutionalise bureaucratic control over news gathering and risk deterring independent reporting on matters of public interest. This is the latest in a growing pattern of restrictions on media freedom in Pakistan. From arbitrary curbs on reporting and increasing censorship to legal and administrative barriers, the space for independent journalism has continued to shrink.
The requirement that journalists obtain state approval to report from large parts of the country sends a chilling message: that critical reporting is unwelcome. We strongly urge the government to withdraw these restrictive measures and uphold its constitutional and international obligation to protect freedom of expression.
@miryasirabbas I have been listening to and reading about this for the last 20 years and don't know how much longer we will have to endure it. Is it that complex to persist for 70 years and yet remain unsolved? Or are our leaders simply not competent enough?
@Alirehmankhan1@ImranKhanPTI I don't know which of my acts have shown you that I have endorsed these incidents. I am condemning my friends highly misogynistic comment because that heart my feeling more. But surely you don't understand that. Not everything is political and not everyone is pro PTI.
Goodluck
@Alirehmankhan1@ImranKhanPTI An educated man like you should realise how to say that instead of a really misogynistic comment like you did.
Again, it was never political, and I think you won't understand it.
@Alirehmankhan1@ImranKhanPTI You are making it political again. Come out of your family politics, dear Ali. And read your statement again and again, neither was it about politics nor it was condemning the incidents. Instead, it was foing the same as Imran Khan did in case of Rape Victims.
@Alirehmankhan1@ImranKhanPTI Everyone condemns the incidents who is a citizen of this country, but we have a law that never says if a woman is out of her home, you can do anything. No one gives anyone that right. For a moment, look at your statement with a non-political lens, and don't fall this low.
@Alirehmankhan1@ImranKhanPTI I am not talking about attacks on Army buildings here. I am talking about your very sexist comment regarding women. Which law is Islamic or Pakistani allows a man to drag a woman by her hair in public?
You can have a political side, but please don't drag yourself this low.
@Alirehmankhan1@ImranKhanPTI That's the most bullshit thing I read today. Never do victim blaming, whatever party you support try to condemn whats wrong atleast.
