It remains to be seen if there will be some changes once Express Entry reopen fully in July and total reduction come 2023 like the Minister suggested.

IRCC has been putting in efforts to reduce the backlog like adding more staff, going digital and it is paying off. For instance 156,000 immigrants became PRs in the first quarter of 2022.
Sadly, the numbers of hopeful permanent residents are growing.
