Congratulations to Louis Brus, Moungi Bawendi, and Alexi Ekimov on their Nobel Prize in Chemistry! Here is a recent video of Louis providing his perspective on changes in science during his lifetime. #nobelprizechemistry#NobelPrize2023 https://t.co/ZJhPjS67sa
Going to attend #ACSFall2024 meeting. My talk is tomorrow, you are welcome to go there and listen some of my recent recent efforts towards nanocrystal surface chemistry.
I've been waiting for this moment and it has finally happened.
I got a paper review back saying I need to familiarise myself more with the works of Heejung Chung and that my work should engage more with her work.
#April8#SolarEclipse This will be the #BiggestEvent happening here in US. You won’t be seeing a total eclipse until 2044!!
Unfortunately, my current location doesn’t lie on the path of the #Totality but 76% of it can be seen.

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has decided to award the 2023 #NobelPrize in Chemistry to Moungi G. Bawendi, Louis E. Brus and Alexei I. Ekimov “for the discovery and synthesis of quantum dots.”
Congratulations! A glorious recognition of the beautiful physics displayed by these particles, the vision and dedication to discover how to make and manipulate them, and the excitement they have generated for so many fields of nanoscale materials chemistry!!
Today quantum dots are an important part of nanotechnology’s toolbox. The 2023 #NobelPrize laureates in chemistry have all been pioneers in the exploration of the nanoworld.
In the early 1980s, this year’s chemistry laureates Louis Brus and Alexei Ekimov succeeded in creating
– independently of each other – quantum dots, which are nanoparticles so tiny that quantum effects determine their characteristics.
