Granit Xhaka's response to a Sunderland fan on TikTok ❤️⚽
A fan posted a video of his dad at the Stadium of Light. "I miss you so much."
Xhaka commented: "We will fight for him in every game."
Sunderland are back in the Premier League after years in the Championship. Their fans stuck with them through relegation, administration, ownership chaos - all of it.
Now they're competing again. And Xhaka gets what that means to people.
He's been at the club less than a season and he already understands what Sunderland means to its supporters.
That's what separates good players from great ones. Xhaka doesn't just play for the shirt. He plays for the people wearing it in the stands.
From Step 2 non-league in 2018 to a £62 million move to Manchester City 🤯⚽
Antoine Semenyo's journey is one of the best in football right now.
Eight years ago, he was playing non-league football. Proper grassroots. The kind of level where most players never make it out.
He kept going. Kept working. Kept believing.
Bristol City gave him a chance. He proved himself. Bournemouth took notice and brought him to the Premier League.
Now Manchester City have just paid £62 million for him. And he scored in his first game as a City player.
From non-league to one of the best clubs in the world in less than a decade.
Most players would've given up. Semenyo trusted the process.
He went out there and showed City what he’s made of ❤️
What a heartwarming gesture from Niko Omilana ❤️⚽
Niko met Kambon, a Tuk-tuk driver, in Thailand while filming a travel video. Kambon helped him explore the country.
Earlier this year, Niko went back. He was doing a challenge travelling the world for free. Kambon drove him across Thailand in his Tuk-tuk. Wouldn't take any money. Let Niko stay in his home. Introduced him to friends and family.
They built a proper bond.
Kambon mentioned he was a massive United fan. Said his dream was to go to Old Trafford one day if he ever had the money.
Niko sorted the visa. Flew Kambon to London. Showed him around the city.
Then surprised him with tickets to United vs Aston Villa at Old Trafford. United won 2-0.
Kambon had no idea it was coming.
Most people would've just said thanks and moved on. Niko flew him halfway across the world to make his dream happen.
Football bringing people together from opposite sides of the planet.
Espanyol with a beautiful gesture to help rescue dogs ❤️
This weekend, every player walked out with a rescue dog available for adoption before their match against Villarreal.
The club set up donation points outside the stadium where fans could bring food, blankets and supplies for local animal shelters.
It's not the first time Espanyol have done this either. They've made it a regular thing - using match day to raise awareness about pet abandonment and responsible adoption.
Most clubs do charity partnerships. Espanyol brings the cause directly onto the pitch where everyone can see it.
Lovely gesture and I hope local animal shelters got the support they deserve!
Raheem Sterling coaches at his own academy every single week ❤️⚽
Since launching the RS7 Academy in August, Sterling has been turning up to training sessions in North West London to work directly with young players.
He's not just the name on the building. He's actually there, putting in the hours.
The academy now includes players of all levels - from grassroots to some of the most promising talents in the country who are already signed to Premier League clubs.
Sterling is also opening a Wembley centre soon, giving more young people from his local community access to his experience and expertise.
Thoughtful way to give back to his roots & give youngsters a route into the beautiful game.
Jérémy Mathieu went from winning the Champions League to working in a sports shop... all for the love of the game ❤️⚽
From...
- Playing alongside Messi, Neymar, Suárez, Xavi and Iniesta
- Winning 8 trophies including the Champions League
- 5 caps for France
To...
- Sales assistant at Intersport in Marseille
- Serving customers in the football department
- Working and staying involved in the sport while earning his coaching badges
Mathieu retired in 2020 after a knee injury. He could've walked away from football completely.
Instead, he's working in a sports shop while he builds his next career in coaching.
No ego. No shortcuts. Just getting his head down out of pure passion for the game.
Love it 🤝
In 2014, David Beckham bought an Major League Soccer team for $25 million... This week, it was valued at $1.2 billion 🤯📈
10 years which have seen @InterMiamiCF :
Go from $55 million revenue (2022) to $185 million (2024)
Increase in value by 4,700%
Win 2 cups: 2023 Leagues Cup and the Supporters’ Shield
Help transform MLS from a 'retirement league' to a top 10 global league, attracting the likes of Bale, Son, and Zlatan
I've seen a lot of chat about Messi doing all the heavy lifting. And sure, signing the greatest player ever helps. But Beckham did far more than that.
He negotiated that $25 million clause into his Galaxy contract back in 2007 - 13 years before Inter Miami even launched. He saw what MLS could become before most people did.
He brought in Tata Martino as coach. Signed Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba and Luis Suárez. Built a commercial operation that turned the club into the second-most valuable franchise in MLS.
Inter Miami launched in 2020. For three years, Beckham was building the infrastructure. Getting the sponsorships right. Developing the brand. Then Messi arrived and everything accelerated.
But the foundation was already there. Beckham didn't just wait for a superstar - he built a club worthy of one.
From $25 million investment to billion-dollar brand. That's not luck. That's vision.
Have loved watching this transformation unfold!
From rejecting Tottenham to scoring a HAT-TRICK against them... ⚽
Eberechi Eze wrote his name into north London derby history.
Spurs tried to sign him last summer. He chose his boyhood club Arsenal instead. £60 million from Crystal Palace to the Emirates.
On Sunday, in his first ever derby, he stepped up big time.
35 minutes. Three goals. Arsenal won 4-1.
No player had scored a Premier League hat-trick in this fixture since 1978. Not Henry, not Wright, not Kane, not Van Persie.
Eze did it in his first attempt.
It’s been nothing but brilliance from him over the past few years - from winning the FA cup with Palace to signing for his boyhood club and stepping up when it matters most…
What a journey he’s been on. And how special it is to be able to watch it.
Love it!!
Red Bull used to just be an energy drink brand. Today, they own football clubs across four continents…
It started in 1987 with a banned energy drink in Austria. Young Germans would cross the border to buy it.
Dietrich Mateschitz knew he needed something big to grow the brand. So he turned to sports.
But traditional sports didn't fit. Red Bull was too rebellious for Wimbledon or golf.
So they invented their own. Dolomitenmann, an extreme relay race. Flugtag, where people jump off platforms with homemade flying machines. Soapbox races through city streets.
Then Formula 1. Red Bull Racing is now worth $2.6 billion from a $400 million investment.
But football? Too slow, too expensive. Until Franz Beckenbauer changed Mateschitz's mind over a conversation in Salzburg.
Beckenbauer said if you want to make a real splash in sports marketing, football is where your money should go.
So Red Bull bought Austria Salzburg. Created RB Leipzig from a fifth-tier German club. Bought New York Red Bulls for $100 million, now worth over $500 million. Added clubs in Brazil and Ghana.
They built a talent pipeline. Players start in Brazil, develop in Salzburg, compete in the Champions League with Leipzig. Players like Haaland, and Mane came through the system. Dominik Szoboszlai worked his way up and sold to Liverpool for £70 million.
Now they've taken a stake in Leeds United - their first Premier League move. They’ve also formed a partnership with Everton.
What started as marketing for an energy drink became a multi-billion-pound football empire.
Win on Sunday, sell on Monday.
Football managers who put community first... ❤️⚽
Estevao was in Sao Paulo with the Brazil national team. Things were hectic. He only had a small window to get his driver's licence.
So he asked Ancelotti if he could miss training to take the test.
Ancelotti said yes.
When Estevao came back, Ancelotti was waiting at the door. "Did you pass?"
"Yes sir, I passed!"
At lunch with the squad, Ancelotti stopped everyone. "I have some news to tell you... Estevao passed his driving test!" The whole team was laughing.
Football at the highest level is intense. High pressure, high stakes, constant competition.
But moments like this show what really holds a team together. Ancelotti didn't just let him go - he cared enough to wait and ask. Then celebrated it with the whole squad.
That's what the best teams do. They look after each other.
Two years ago, Sir Alex Ferguson lost his wife. Most people would've let grief consume them...
Last week, Ferguson shared what keeps him going. He puts it all down to travelling and doing charity work ❤️⚽
He's an ambassador for Playlist for Life, a charity that uses personalised music to help people with dementia. He's donated auction prizes like Manchester United hospitality tickets to fund their work.
He also supports Race Against Dementia, which focuses on finding a cure.
Ferguson's brother has dementia. He's spoken publicly about how music helps keep his own mind sharp - he sings every morning.
The travel keeps him moving. The charity work gives him purpose.
Sometimes the best way through grief is to keep going and focus on helping others.
That's exactly what Ferguson did.
One of the best tributes in football ❤️⚽
Vicente Navarro Aparicio attended every Valencia home game for decades. Rain or shine, he was there.
When he lost his sight, he kept going. His son would sit beside him and narrate every play. Vicente celebrated with the crowd as if he could see it all.
He never missed a match.
In 2016, Vicente passed away at 88.
Valencia erected a statue in his honour. Seat 164, row 15, in the main stand. Right where he always sat.
Vicente is still there. Cheering them on.
That's what loyalty looks like.
"Headphones Norm" attended every Charlton match for over 50 years ❤️⚽
Norman Barker started going to Charlton in 1968. He never stopped.
Everyone knew him. Headphones around his neck, Davy Crockett hat on his head. Fans said if you spotted him on an away day, you knew you were going in the right direction.
During a match against Portsmouth, there was a medical emergency in the North Stand. The game was abandoned. Norm died in hospital shortly after.
At the next match against Middlesbrough, his seat was draped in a Charlton scarf with his headphones on top and flowers underneath. The game stopped in the 13th minute so everyone could applaud him.
Fans left letters, drawings, candles and messages outside the North Stand.
Last summer, Norm won Charlton's Supporter of the Year award. He took the trophy to a family gathering straight after.
Norm is still there. At the Valley. Where he always was.
What a YEAR it’s been for Scott McTominay 👏
• Won Serie A
• Awarded Serie A Player of the Year
• Won Serie A MVP Award
• In AIC Serie A Team of the Season
• Awarded AIC Serie A Footballer of the Year
• Scored a mental overhead kick which helped his nation get World Cup qualification for the first time in 27 years
From coming through Man Utd’s youth academy then struggling to reach his potential in the first team…
…to being let sold to Napoli - and it being the best thing that could’ve happened to him.
Thoroughly deserved. Love to see it 🏆
A 15-year-old from Peru travelled 18 hours to stream a football match from a hill - now he's going to Real Madrid vs Man City ❤️⚽
Cliver Huaman Sánchez dreams of becoming a football reporter.
He travelled 18 hours from Southern Peru to Lima to cover the Libertadores final. He couldn't afford a ticket, so he streamed it from the top of a hill outside the stadium.
His story went viral.
Within days, he was invited to commentate on a Peruvian league match. Proper commentary box. Proper broadcast.
Now he's been invited to attend Real Madrid vs Man City in the Champions League.
From a hilltop in Lima to the biggest club competition in the world.
Most people would've given up when they couldn't get into the stadium. Cliver found a hill and made it work anyway.
That's what passion looks like.
A family asked Cristiano Ronaldo for his boots to auction for their baby's brain surgery... he paid the entire $83,000 bill instead ❤️⚽
Most footballers would've signed the boots, taken a photo, and called it a day.
Ronaldo took it several steps further. When he heard baby Erik needed life-saving brain surgery, he quietly covered the entire medical bill himself.
The family had planned to auction his boots to raise money. Instead, Ronaldo made sure they didn't need to.
$83,000 - paid in full. No questions asked.
Sometimes the biggest gestures happen away from the cameras and the headlines 💙
