When people who care about us try to give us advice, we should thank them!
We don't have to judge them or prove they are wrong.
We don't have to promise to agree.
We can just say, "Thank you."
Sometimes they may be telling us something that we need to hear, but do not want to hear. When we start talking we stop listening and stop learning.
When people who do not care about us try to give us advice, we can thank them anyway! They don't really care about our opinion. Why waste our time arguing with them?
This small piece of advice may help us all have happier and more peaceful lives.
Buddha taught, "Only do what I teach, if it works in the context of your own life." This applies today as well as it did 2,600 years ago.
Life is good.

Foods can help tame stress in several ways. Comfort foods, like a bowl of warm oatmeal, boost levels of serotonin, a calming brain chemical. Other foods can cut levels of cortisol and adrenaline, stress hormones that take a toll on the body over time. A healthy diet can help counter the impact of stress by shoring up the immune system and lowering blood pressure. Do you know which foods are stress busters? https://t.co/IidaoVBYkq
Perfectionism can be a heavy burden for intelligent, ambitious people.
The same people who are reading this text.
We may become so focused on getting everything exactly right that we forget the deeper purpose our journey through life.
The quest for perfection can slow us down, create unnecessary stress, and keep us trapped in endless self-criticism. Instead of moving forward, we can keep revising, replaying, and worrying.
Ironically, perfectionism often prevents growth. We learn by acting, adapting, and improving, not by waiting for flawless conditions that will never arrive.
Most important, the need for perfection can steal the joy from life itself.
The happiest and most fulfilled people are far from perfect. They are human beings who learn to accept imperfections in themselves, in others, and in life.
Do your best. Keep learning. Keep moving forward.
Make peace.
Life is good.

Mantras are incredibly powerful and set you up for a top day. May I humbly and kindly and gratefully and positively suggest you use them.
I really really really hope you meditate upon this idea in today’s post.
Love + respect,
Robin
If we hang around negative people, we tend to become negative ourselves.
As much as you can, try to have conversations with people that are focused on doing somthing positive - not just tearing down another person or group.
For example, about 45 years ago, my wife and I had a dinner with a couple of co-workers. After dinner we both commented on how many times we had put down other people who were not there. Neither of us were proud of our behavior.
We finally realized that we were having dinner with a couple who did nothing but put other people down. We decided that it was not our place to judge them. It was our decision not to have dinner with them again.
George Bernard Shaw had a point. If you wrestle with a pig, don't be shocked when you start getting dirty!
Life is good.
