I never imagined what peace would look like at 60.
In 80 days I turn 60. Three years into early retirement, I am living the freedom to be fully myself, equally at home on the farm and in the fastest cities, among mathematics education scholars and among farmers, as a grandmother who is rested, sufficient, and unhurried.
Awards and a presidential order have their place. Nothing surpasses the quiet I carry into this next decade.
This is the season I prayed for.

The colleague once warned that if I led by principle, opposing sides would one day unite to oust me, and I would have to “eat my principles.”
He was right. Today I am eating them and they taste remarkably good.
I sleep peacefully. I am off the depression & anxiety medication. I choose what I do, who I work with, where and when. Things have worked out.
I remain grateful to God for the strength and the boldness. Principles may exact a price, but they also deliver a freedom that politics never can.

Back on the African continent and loving it.
This is home.
Despite the challenges, Africa offers opportunity and hope. Here I feel at peace - no need to explain my existence, passion or purpose.
Our challenges are ours to solve. I appreciate the space I operate in, where the daily work is to explore possible solutions.

@eliotchauke1 He can't even differentiate between recommendations and appointment,if there is a problem with appointment of someone, Human resources is directly responsible for the error,and that is labour dispute matter,if raised by other candidates,not criminal issue
