Another summer of Upstate NY being smoked out by Canada’s (purposeful) mismanagement of its forests.

I believe the U.S. should fine Canada for causing this bad of air quality. My stepfather (marine veteran) can’t go outside today or catch his breath. And the poor animals.

Not minimizing the trauma of those near the fire, but rather, advocating for a discussion on how to stop this from happening every summer. There are many ways to responsibly manage forests.

It was brought to my attention yesterday that the construction crew building Moraine Solar in Allegany County, NY is extracting water out of an active trout stream at the bottom of Freiner Hill Road.

This is not the first time a person has shared this kind of behavior from solar companies with me.

He provided two photos of the trout stream that abuts to the back of his property. They are attached here. He told me in the six years he has lived there, he has never seen this happen to the water.

The @NYSDEC admitted the solar company does not have a permit to do this to the stream.

What is the DEC going to do about it? Absolutely nothing. Do you know why? ORES supersedes the DEC. ORES tells other NY agencies to "look the other way" while out-of-country labor, completely unmonitored, pillages our natural resources.

Why is the solar company extracting water out of New York streams?

The build-out of these massive solar and wind complexes is one huge resource extraction and laundering game for the companies on the ground. They are re-selling the assets they harvest from our land without consulting the landowners that leased.

This is what happens when corporations know there is no oversight. New York State is not monitoring what they do. It's the Wild West.

I have some information related to resource extraction I will be sharing in the coming weeks that will shock you. This is why ORES was created. They are selling our best assets, land, and water to the highest bidders.

And it has NOTHING to do with the energy generated.

The night before meeting with the @USDA and speaking at a press conference to national media about the Office of Renewable Energy Siting (ORES), I went to the rooftop of the hotel I was staying at to take in a view of DC.

A man was sitting near my friend and I alone. After a few minutes, he leaned over to introduce himself. He was from Germany and had traveled all the way to DC to celebrate our 250th year as a nation.

His love for our country was beaming out of his face. He was an incredibly nice, happy, and giggly man, and we shared with him some of the German heritage that both my friend and I have in our families. He was so happy to hear that.

He asked why I was in DC. I started to tell him about the solar and wind takeover of our land in New York. He told me the exact same playbook is playing out in Germany, and that this is much, much bigger than one American state.

It was the first time I’ve spoken with a European about solar and wind sprawl in-person. He told me about the state of their grid, now with the same problems as New York State’s grid, as their politicians rushed to take reliable forms of power generation offline to push “renewables.”

I’d later to go on to learn the very companies destroying New York are the same ones destroying Arizona, Utah, and also Europe.

I’m not sure what other country on earth has people from thousands of miles away fly in for its independence day.

I believe a city as great as Buffalo should proudly celebrate America’s 250th birthday. Instead, the Mayor canceled that celebration while presiding over a ceremony honoring a foreign flag. It was an enormous disappointment to the thousands upon thousands of Buffalo residents who were looking forward to celebrating this historic milestone with their families and neighbors.

Those were his priorities. Mine are clear: I’ll always stand for America, celebrate our flag, honor our history, and never apologize for believing that America should come first.
