As I have been saying, he looks very much like a purebred Russian Blue. (I know how they look, since we’ve had purebred RBs in the family from the late 1970’s forward.)
🩶 Senior cats deserve love stories too… and Indy is hoping hers is next. 🩶
At 10 years old, Indy recently lost the only life she had ever known.
Her elderly owner was suddenly forced to move into a no-pet household after becoming widowed, and heartbreakingly, there was nowhere for Indy to go. No family able to help. No friends able to take her in.
So now this sweet senior girl finds herself at Homeward Bound Cat Adoptions, trying to understand why everything changed. 💔
And honestly? Senior cats like Indy need homes more than ever.
Because while kittens get endless attention, older cats are so often overlooked… despite being some of the BEST companions you could ever ask for.
She is the definition of a gentle soul. She can be shy at first and may greet you with a tiny hiss while she figures you out (honestly relatable), but once she trusts you? She becomes an affectionate little love bug who enjoys snuggles, conversation, and simply being near her people.
What Indy needs now is simple:
A loving home and someone willing to let her settle in and remember what safety feels like again.
Please help give Indy the peaceful loving home she deserves. Senior cats still have so much love left to give. 🩶🐾
Meet her at Homeward Bound Cat Adoptions in Las Vegas, Nevada.

🆘🆘 EVERGLADES (ID 250751), 2 YO, MALE – IN MANHATTAN ACC - came into the shelter as a return on 5/21/2026. 🆘🆘 😿 😿 😿 😿
➡️TBD 6/20/26
➡️ TOO LOW ON PLEDGES TO STIMULATE RESCUE INTEREST
➡️🆘🆘 4TH Chance on Emergency Placement List – BEYOND URGENT - NO ROOM IN SHELTER – WILL NOT BE GIVEN MUCH MORE TIME – VERY HIGH EU/SILENT KILL RISK – 🆘🆘 😱🔥🔥😱
➡️ 29 DAYS IN SHELTER – TOO LONG – TIME IS RUNNING OUT
➡️ EVERGLADES IS ON THE EPL FOR BEHAVIORAL REASONS -He is not thriving in the care center and continues to display distance-increasing behavior when approached for interactions. He has not warmed up despite staff using treats to build a positive association. This designation often means that the cat will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption.🔥🔥🔥🔥
What my friends at ACC say about me: My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet! I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe. Everglades tolerates attention and petting but appears fearful or stressed in the shelter. He may be a little more independent and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents. Due to the behavior shown, he may not be a great fit for young children. Any home with older children prepared to adopt this cat should conduct a thorough interaction and endeavor to monitor this cat around their children to prevent these behaviors from being reinforced. ❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻

In shelter care, Winter has presented with distance increasing fear-based behaviors before progressing/improving through work with behavior staff. She has a history of a fear-based behavior incident that occurred in her previous home, which should be discussed with an adoption counsellor and taken into account when considering adopting Winter. A fearful cat will feel more relaxed when given options, she will likely require allowing her to lead interactions, and providing her with the chance to move closer, investigate, or interact with you. A volunteer writes: Please see Winter with any questions, comments, and concerns regarding scheduling, policy, and programming. She's been here since March but that's not why she's been fast tracked to upper management. It's her skills! For consideration and approval, Winter utilizes a rigorous process that only she understands and because task delegation hasn't been a priority (please don't tell her I said that) we've been left trying to parse out the details. Winter knows who she is and we celebrate her confident stride, but just because she's a picture of self assuredness and leadership, doesn't mean shelter life has been exactly easy for her. We know Winter likes to be the one to make decisions but the Care Center doesn't always have a lot of opportunities for that. We don't know that much about her life before, but Winter isn't a fan of other cats and is hoping her next role will be supervising a family.❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻

💔😿🙏Thank you
Unfortunately we have ran out of funds for her and now we have to fundraise again for 10 sessions of physiotherapy (250$) and to close her vet bill which is 260$.
He is a friendly, ear-tipped male (an ear-tip means he’s already been neutered) that is struggling beyond belief. His right eye is completely shut with out, he is rail thin, unkempt and barely eating according to the Good Samaritan that called us.
