This has been my experience with the “dissident right” over the past five years.
On the one hand, my reputation is so bad that any criticism of Trump I might offer works in reverse. On the other hand, even though they, too, are racist fascists bronze-age edgelords, their praise of Trump helps him win and appeals to normies.
On a third hand, I’m likely being paid by the DNC and/or FBI; however, on the fourth hand, their anonymous devotion to a Trump-led federal government is completely authentic and selfless.
On a fifth hand, I’m irrelevant, not worth mentioning, and yet on the sixth hand, they continue to denounce and ostracize any dissenting voices against the One True Trump.
Put simply, they are incoherent, or coherent only in their devotion to the GOP.
“I have nothing against diversity, equity, and inclusion. But as Voltaire said about the Holy Roman Empire: it was neither holy, nor Roman, nor an empire.”
What happened in D.C.? 🧵1/ We, outside the classified zone, won't know for a while - because the European leaders pulled of something surreal: they pulled Trump back from getting sucked in to Putin's mental framework ... but...
Ronald Reagan, one of the greatest presidents of all time:
"Now let's set the record straight. There's no argument over the choice between peace and war, but there's only one guaranteed way you can have peace—and you can have it in the next second—surrender."
Donald Trump:
Trump has completely swallowed putin's nonsense about a "comprehensive peace", which translated from orc speak into civilized speech means:
• Ukraine must give half its territory to russia.
• the rest of Ukraine becomes a russian colony
• the US abandons the Baltics

One concept I wish more people were aware of is the Tocqueville Effect.
Named for Alexis de Tocqueville, this concept describes the curious phenomenon by which people become more frustrated as problems are resolved:
As life gets better, people think it's getting worse!🧵
Trump appears to have achieved nothing from his bizarre & unprepared invitation of war criminal Putin.
1. Most important was that Trump received Putin subserviently. That says more about Trump than Putin.
2. Trump recognized Russia as the superpower it no longer is.
@ode_to_fyodor@RichardHanania Here’s a peaceplan: defeat Putin militarily with overwhelming force deploy European willing boots on the ground if needed and force Putin to give up his ambitions of reabsorbing Ukraine into the Russian empire.
It’s not that hard.
