Refuse being a rehabilitation centre for a person or people at your expense.
Sometimes walking away has nothing to do with weakness but everything to do with strength.
We walk away not because we want others to realize our worth and value, but because we finally realize our own.

I wanted to say something earlier. This notion that children will be fine and that they’ll recover is great in theory, but practically it doesn’t seem to be working well because there are far too many wounded kids navigating life as hurt adults.
A SHORT STORY FROM A ZIMBABWEAN.
WHAT'S YOUR TAKE? HAVE HAD A SIMILAR EXPERIENCE?
"I made up my mind to relocate to Zim from UK in mid 2014 as I was working as a consultant for 3 different organisations with projects in Southern Africa.
"The money was flowing in. It made sense to relocate. I already had cars, a house and agricultural land in Zim.
Everything seemed in place for a succesful move. Being a Christian, I prayed and felt it was the right decision. I managed to convince my very reluctant wife.
In Dec 2014 we moved back to Zim and I quickly bought an acre of land in a nice Suburb and in 6 months built a grand brand new home for my family.
I put my 3 kids in private schools (bill around $US$12 000 per term) and they thrived. My eldest son was doing so well they moved him to the best class in that stream.
My youngest was 3 years old and had spent 2014 in and out of hospital. The year we moved to Zim , not once did I need to take him to a doctor. He never even had a cold/flue that year!
We were surrounded by loving family who were ultra supportive. Once a month I would take the family shopping in Botswana or South Africa. We visited Vic Falls and other tourist sites regularly. Life was good.
But! We moved back to UK just over a year later in 2016. What went wrong?
Firstly- I used to bank in South Africa and was a rand millionaire. In December 2014 the rand depreciated by 45% .
Suddenly my savings were depleted and relocation funds slashed. I no longer had the money I thought I had. Worse was to follow.
In 2015 I lost the 3 big contracts that had influenced my move back to Zim. The lesson learned was that you need to store money in safe countries such as Mauritius or UK/USA or such similar to use when you relocate.
1. Move based on money you have saved not jobs that are paying you well coz those can end.
2. Secondly - My wife and I were not in agreement on the move. I had used the might of my money and assets to drag her into the move. When storms hit , she had an " I told you so" response.
I have friends from UK who moved with the wife taking the lead and have thrived and prospered in Zim. My lesson learned is ,dont move until your wife is confident of the move and when you move, let her take the lead. Note im deliberating emphasising the wifes role as that was my context.
3. Don't burn bridges - I stopped all my UK work when I moved to Zim. So when I moved back to UK had to start at the bottom of the ladder doing shifts. It took me 2 years to get back to my pre-move role. It took longer to rebuild my professional life.
My lesson from it is that you mustn't cut the umbilical chord to your adopted country when you move back. Keep things warm.
My grandmother ( dads aunt) did just that having moved to UK in the 1970s , worked as a nurse till she retired in 2009. She moved back to Zim but would come and work in UK 3 months a year or so to raise money for her plush Zim life. Maybe that will work for some."
