@tablesnorthend That is to say, the Anglican Church can only be serious under the leadership of the bishops of its traditional sees, that being Canterbury, London Westminster etc which are currently occupied by libs which led to schisms and rival alters
I was just thinking about whether I would prefer to join the SSPX since I’m STILL not that interested in Papal Infallibility which I get the SSPX agree with (in theory but hardly in practice) then maybe someone like myself who is a bit of doctrinal drifter would enjoy that.
@tablesnorthend Im afraid I can’t. The Anglican Church needs to thoroughly side with the Anglo Catholic movement and cease the via media, which is essential to being Anglican. It also needs to fix it’s problems of unity.
I would maybe consider Anglicanism if Canterbury wasn’t what it is
@mattjhedges11 I think filoque aside, we have some incredibly common ground with the latinizer EO’s. Some of the works by the russian saints during what they call the “captivity” is great.
@mattjhedges11 Untrue, both east and west utilised scholasticism, confessions, catechisms and used the same methods of theology to define their beliefs.
Unless you mean something else here i don’t see the difference.
Protestant Scholastics trying to re invent doctrine could not have come up with this if they tried.
Not even a German Bishop could devise such a concept either, truly the Greek modernists are ahead of their time.
I must praise the Orthodox modernists who just said that their innovations were revealed to them by God because of their “Theosis” or their “Phronema” quite literally it is brilliant, it is the best way to revolutionise dogma and to get the vulgar masses to believe your madness.
Attended my local Church here and the priest was Indian, there were female altar servers, Protestant music and the majority of the parishioners were migrants.
I left Mass in a state of deep anger and will probably never go back to that parish ever again. I despise all of it.
However the SSPX are the ROCOR of Roman Catholicism and I would be promptly rejected by them because I support with a firm conviction, the ecumenical theology of Vatican 2.
Im suspicious of the “Abrahamic God” doctrine but I agree we need to enter communion with the Orthodox.
@FrStephenImb Oh no father I agree with you! I agree that the SSPX orders are illicit. However when you say they “aren’t bishops” it suggest you are sympathetic to the donatist position.
Which I know youre not. But it’s worth using the correct terms
