Architect Project Volume Zero Competition Unbox – Magic Mountain, Moorea We are pleased to present situating an innovative public square atop the iconic Magic Mountain in Moorea, French Polynesia. This proposal envisions a dynamic communal space that seamlessly blends learning, play, and performance, social experience for both locals and visitors in this breathtaking setting The design focuses on creating a versatile, interactive environment where community engagement thrives through thoughtfully integrated elements. At its heart lies a giant chessboard that not only serves as a playful challenge but also encourages strategic thinking and social interaction. Surrounding this centerpiece, an array of musical instruments crafted for public use invites spontaneous creativity and collaboration, making sound an integral part of the space’s identity dedicated platform is incorporated to host a variety of performances, from theatrical shows to live music and dance, designed with optimal acoustics and visibility in mind. This elevated stage also doubles as an evocative backdrop for photography, capturing the unique fusion of natural beauty and human expression that defines the Magic Mountain locale Perched above Moorea’s lush landscapes with panoramic views of the ocean and the island’s emblematic peaks, this project embraces the cultural richness and environmental splendor of the site. The public square acts as a beacon for community gatherings, education-focused workshops, and cultural festivities, thus reinforcing Moorea’s status as a vibrant of creativity and connection. our architectural design articulates a harmonious balance between nature, culture, and interactive urban space—transforming the summit of Magic Mountain into a lively platform for play, learning, and artistic display. We believe this project will inspire meaningful encounters and create lasting memories, inviting all who visit to participate actively in the unfolding narrative of Moorea’s communal life. Volume Zero Competitions. My professional architect project positioned in the stunning location of Belvedere, Moorea, French Polynesia. This project thoughtfully integrates local context and culture, focusing particularly on the design of public libraries as community-centric spaces. The aim is to create an environment that not only celebrates the natural beauty of Moorea but also fosters learning and social engagement through accessible and inspiring architectural solutions. Situated in Belvedere, the site offers panoramic views and a unique opportunity to blend modern design with the island’s lush landscape. The library facilities are carefully designed to reflect the island’s spirit, incorporating sustainable materials and open, light-filled interiors that encourage exploration and knowledge sharing. These spaces serve both as repositories of information and as cultural hubs, inviting residents and visitors alike to immerse themselves in the rich heritage of the region while embracing contemporary architectural innovation.
