Glasgow wedding photographer or studio portraits -Studio 13 Renfrew Can I make your day special? Stills photography or Video production - make it special!
I've been driving around the Scottish Highlands for a few days and I've noticed a big difference in towns compared to where I live in Devon.
In Devon, whenever you drive into a town you have to pay to park. That's before you spend anything in shops, bars, cafes etc.
Councils consider car drivers as the enemy. A mere cash cow. If you park - YOU PAY.
Hence, many people now avoid town centres like the plague or they severely limit the number of times they visit.
For the past few days I've stopped off in many towns across the North of Scotland. I've parked in council car parks and not once have I been confronted with a ticket machine, a barrier or an ANPR camera.
And guess what? I've actually been into shops, cafes, restaurants etc and spent money. In so doing, I've helped the businesses to do what they do best - Providing goods and services to their communities.
Communities free from paying extortionate amounts of money to local councils for the "privilege" of being able to park up and visit businesses who rely on their custom.
Councils "down South" should take notice.
If you price drivers out of towns, they stay away, businesses close and the town dies.
The evidence is everywhere.
(And yes, I know Internet shopping is another enemy of the High Street so I don't need to be informed about that).
Voyager 1 is 24 billion kilometers from Earth.
It communicates with us using a 23-watt transmitter.
Less than a refrigerator light bulb.
The signal takes 22 hours to reach us, traveling at the speed of light.
By the time it arrives, it's 20 billion times weaker than the power of a digital watch battery.
NASA's Deep Space Network picks it up using 70-meter dish antennas cooled to near absolute zero to reduce electronic noise.
The engineering required to hear a 23-watt signal from 24 billion km away is arguably more impressive than the spacecraft itself.
Launched 1977.
Still transmitting.
Still being heard.
We built something that works perfectly, 47 years later, in conditions no one has ever tested in.
That's what engineering for the long term looks like.
Somebody has taped a powerfully-written letter to the road sign just outside Southampton police station that sends a very clear message about how we feel after the Henry Nowak murder.

You want to know what's worse than incompetence? Knowing the truth and burying it anyway.
They knew. That's the bit nobody is saying. They knew.
Two days after Henry died Hampshire Police secretly recorded Digwa in a police van speaking Punjabi to his brother. Digwa admitted stabbing Henry. Discussed claiming self defence. Made zero mention of racial abuse. Not one word.
Hampshire Police had that tape.
They knew Digwa was lying about the racist attack. They had the evidence. They had his own words and then tried to smear Henry as the aggressor anyway.
Three days after his death their statement read “it was reported two men had been assaulted by an unknown man.” Henry was the unknown man. The boy bleeding out on the street. They flipped it.
Family complained. Statement changed. Then police told the family their NEXT update would again infer Henry was the initial aggressor. His family had to fight them a second time. While grieving their murdered son.
Then during the trial Hampshire tried to issue a statement telling the public to stop talking about it online. Calling it disinformation. The CPS had to step in. Told them they were about to collapse their own murder case.
This is the force that handcuffed a dying boy. Missed the murder weapon twice. Had a secret tape proving the killer lied. And still tried to bury Henry's name.
That's not incompetence. That's a machine protecting itself. At the expense of a dead boy's reputation and three officers are still on active duty. Not suspended. Treated as witnesses. To their own actions.
Hampshire Police didn't just fail Henry on that street. They kept failing him for six months after he died.
Racism is always discussed as though white people can only be perpetrators and never victims. That is wrong. The law should not see colour. It should see conduct. There must be no hierarchy of victims, no hierarchy of racism and no hierarchy of protection.
A crown Court judge who sentanced ppl for Southport disorder has been assigned to judicate over Southampton disorder
A man who pled guilty for throwing a traffick cone has been told he'll be sentanced Monday and should expect 3 to 5 years
Thats 1 more year than the child rapist just got from the latest grooming gang convictions
That's your Labour party justice
Some politicians in the UK think it is a good idea to introduce identity verification for using VPN services.
It could be that these politicians do not understand what they are proposing. The alternative, that they do understand, would be even worse.
Whistleblowers, activists, and journalists depend on anonymous VPN services. Requiring identity verification for VPN services would put them at risk. It would also have a chilling effect on online debate (VPNs can help people post anonymously on social media).
In authoritarian countries, VPN services are crucial forcriticizing the government. That is precisely why such governments seek to ban or restrict them. Hopefully, the UK will not join that list.
Do not use StubHub. I purchased $1,500 of Journey tickets from them. They promised delivery before 4:30pm for a 7:30pm show. I spent 3 hours in the afternoon trying to get the tickets. Nothing. The venue was an hour from my home. At 6:30 no resolution, no contact. I did not go. I received upgraded tickets from them via email at 7:37pm via email. The show had started. I asked for a complete refund. They refused. They said I could have seen most of the show. These people are criminals. Period. @StubHub
After the referee blew the whistle to call the game off, players from both Denmark and Ukraine came together in a moment of collective solidarity with Christian Eriksen.
🚨WOW. KILLER DIGWA WAS NOT EVEN SEARCHED PROPERLY BY POLICE
HE STILL HAD A KNIFE ON HIM WHEN THEY TOOK HIM TO THE POLICE STATION
They didn't even bother to disarm him
This is how biased the Policing is
Labour Minister David Lammy made the ludicrous statement: “equality doesn’t mean treating everyone the same.” Such a stupid man shouldn’t be in politics
🚨 LEAKED AUDIO just dropped.
Labour Councillor Susanna Pressel (Oxfordshire) is caught on mic saying:
“Can we trace them on social media?”
“Can Police not lie in wait and nab the B*STARDS?”
…for people putting up British flags 🇬🇧 on lampposts.
Should public officials who call for arrests over flying the national flag be held accountable?
YES or NO?
@ArchRose90 The get out of jail card, the response from the father. It was the family that got the release of the video. They knew the outrage that would provoke and show how their son was treated.
This was brilliant. Trevor Phillips played a clip of what Keir Starmer said about George Floyd and displayed how Labour MPs expressed their “anger”.
David Lammy said it was fine because they were in opposition.
But not fine for Nigel Farage to use the term “rage” like they did.
This is deeply troubling. I hope my union - @fbunational - will explain to fire service bosses that firefighters must be free to express their political views without fear of sanction by their employer. @manchesterfire has seriously overstepped the mark here.
Can the government explain to me why this UK trained British doctor can’t get a post yet are still giving visas for foreign doctors at her skill level?
It is immoral that the very best of our own educated young people can’t get NHS jobs & migrants can!
