When people find out I work at @AnimalsAotearoa and work with food businesses to improve the way chickens are farmed, I often get asked which meat people should but that is the 'good' one. So I wrote an article.

@gina_quynh I went to find out about the other candidates in Mana, seems to be that's pretty much all I can find out. Thanks for providing answers Gina!
A 43K petition was tabled in Parliament today calling on the Gov to #LegislateTheDate on live sheep export once and for all.
Thank you to Josh Wilson MP, Michelle Ananda-Rajah MP, @SophieScamps, @joshburnsmp, Tony Zappia MP, @WilkieMP & @MehreenFaruqi for their show of support.
I suspect very similar strategies are being used by animal industry to delay animal welfare regulation. Farrowing crates come to mind, it was 2005 when the Gov advisors first raised concerns and now in 2023 delay is still happening.

@skrybnz @SAFEnewzealand The Regulations Review Committee recommended that the Government conduct a review into how secondary legislation (so Codes and Regulations) are made under the Animal Welfare Act.
🤞It is implemented and a new process that better considers animal welfare is implemented.
📷 A new poll by our friends @AnimalPolicyInt shows consensus across the political spectrum. Kiwis want to see New Zealand restrict imports from countries with lower animal welfare standards. #electionnz#nzpol
We're delighted to announce that The Coffee Club and @birdonawirenz are flying towards higher welfare for chickens by signing the Better Chicken Commitment. #nzmedia
