I should not conflate frugality with poverty. it is frugality itself, restraint and the abdication of indulgences, that gives us appreciation of the pleasures in our life

I think there is some comfort in poverty, in some epicurean way. such that, to live a frugal life is to value each blessing you encounter

@junetangles in much this way my church is removing "the inherent worth and dignity of every person" as its first principle. saying there are bad people in the world who want to hurt others. I still think it is important. argue for it. that love has to win, even for people we don't like
